Spreading Sunshine, Smiles, and Books Across the Mississippi Gulf Coast!
Goodwill Reads is a Goodwill of South Mississippi initiative dedicated to promoting early literacy and a love of reading across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Through this program, Goodwill Reads collects new and gently used children’s books and places them directly into the hands of kids at schools, childcare centers, and local learning institutions. With the help of volunteers and community partners, Goodwill Reads creates positive, engaging reading experiences that encourage learning, build confidence, and help children start their educational journey on a strong, happy note.
Interested in volunteering with Goodwill Reads?
We’d love to have you! There are so many fun and meaningful ways to get involve! Help as a book cleaner/sorter at our Goodwill Reads homebase in Ocean Springs, Mississippi (bring your friends! We provide the coffee, drinks, snacks, and daytime TV!), donate new or nearly new books to support the program, host a book drive in your school, office, or community, or volunteer as a Goodwill Reads reader at local learning institutions. However you choose to help, you’ll be making a direct impact by spreading smiles, sunshine, and the love of reading right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
