Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new Biloxi store on July 3, located at 2647 Pass Road in the former Hobby Lobby building. The spacious new location replaces the previous store at the corner of Popp’s Ferry and Pass Roads, offering a fresh, modern shopping experience for the Gulf Coast community.
Shoppers began lining up bright and early Thursday morning, wrapping around the building in anticipation of the 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. Guests were treated to free hot dogs, lemonade, kettle corn, and other goodies, along with giveaways and swag throughout the event.
“I am so excited that the community is coming out to support us,” said Vicki Burton, the CEO and President of Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi. Burton said retail stores help support Goodwill’s mission of strengthening the community. “We are so much more than just this retail operation. We’re about giving back to the community and doing workforce training, and the community is supporting those efforts,” said Burton.
“We just felt like we could have a beautiful location here and fit in with the other businesses that are in this shopping center,” she added. “We just wanted a bigger and brighter location.”
The new store is one of 12 Goodwill retail locations across six South Mississippi counties. Each purchase made supports Goodwill’s mission of helping individuals gain job skills, find employment, and achieve greater independence.
Located near popular retailers like Harbor Freight and The Picklr, the new Biloxi location offers extended floor space, an improved layout, and an expanded merchandise selection. The store remains open throughout the July 4th weekend with more great deals and community engagement planned.
