Goodwill South Mississippi Makes Holiday Donation to Humane Society of South Mississippi

This holiday season, Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi is honored to give back to one of our local nonprofit partners in a meaningful way. Through the generosity of our community, we recently delivered two full truckloads of donations to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, helping support animals in need during the colder months.

The donation included a wide variety of much-needed items collected through our Goodwill for Good Paws Donation Drive, as well as blankets and linens donated at all 12 of our Goodwill retail locations across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In addition, Goodwill contributed new items such as pet food, treats, toys, and essential supplies to further support the Humane Society’s daily operations and animal care efforts.

“That’s the reason we’re open every day, to be a community partner and to give back,” said Vicki Burton, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi provides critical care, shelter, and resources for animals throughout the region, and the winter months often bring an increased need for supplies. By working together, Goodwill and the Humane Society are able to extend warmth, comfort, and care to animals who need it most.

At Goodwill South Mississippi, 90 cents of every dollar earned through our stores is reinvested back into the local community, funding workforce development programs, job training, and partnerships with organizations like the Humane Society. This donation is one example of how shopping and donating at Goodwill helps create positive change right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
